Description
Scaraben is a house designed by Thomas Telford, built in 1827. It is a two-storey, three-bay structure with a later 19th-century single-storey and attic rear wing. The exterior is harled, featuring contrasting painted tooled ashlar margins. There are porches set back at the east and west gables, with the entrance located on the east side, raised to connect with the later addition. The windows have 12-pane glazing, and the house has coped end stacks. The main dwelling is covered with artificial slates, while the rear is slated.
