Description
This is a railway swing bridge, built in 1901 by Simpson and Wilson. It is a steel bow truss bridge, crossing the Caledonian Canal to carry the West Highland railway track. The bridge is referenced in John Hume’s “The Industrial Archaeology of Scotland,” volume ii, page 208.
