1-6 Old Church Court, Innes Street, Plockton

This building, located in Old Church Court, Innes Street, Plockton, is a large, rectangular church dating from around 1845. It was refitted and improved in 1869 by Alexander Ross. The church is built of rubble stone. The west elevation features a round-headed doorway in the centre, and original long, round-headed windows are set into the paired north and south gables, featuring intersecting multi-pane glazing. The east elevation contains two long, square windows and a smaller, similarly styled window above the pulpit. The building is covered by a slate roof.

The interior is plain with fittings dating from 1869. A 6-bay arcade runs north to south, supported by seven octagonal columns that have been varnished and stencilled. A long gallery runs along the west wall. The square, panelled pulpit and plain pews are original to the 1869 reordering. Simple cast-iron railings mark the street frontage, and a drystone wall surrounds the property.

The building remains in use as an ecclesiastical building. Tenders for the 1869 improvements were advertised in the Inverness Advertiser on 9 April 1869, and further details can be found in Ewing's Annals of the Free Church (1906).
