Description
Urquhart Church of Scotland Parish Church was built in 1795 using coursed rubble with ashlar dressings and features a slated roof. The church has a simple rectangular shape and includes a birdcage bellcote at the west gable, topped with a stepped pyramidal roof and a ball finial, while the east gable has a fleur de lis finial. The south front consists of six bays with tall round-arched windows, featuring intersecting traceried astragals in the central four bays. Originally, there was a door at each of the end bays, but a later vestry now projects from between the two central windows. The church was reoriented to the east in 1894 by Ross & Macbeth, during which geometric tracery was added to the rectangular gable windows, and the south door was converted into a low window with two cusped lights. The churchyard is enclosed by a rubble wall.
