Description
4 Stafford Street in Tain is an early 19th century building comprising three two-storey houses with attics, each featuring three bays and central doors. The exterior is constructed from coursed rubble with tooled margins, and some sections are painted. The houses have four-pane sash windows, end and ridge stacks, and slate roofs.
Number 4 has a painted lintel course at the ground floor, a double-leaf panelled door, a modern box dormer, and a piended roof. The gable facing Duke Street is harled with painted margins.
Number 6 features two canted dormers and a double-leaf panelled door.
Number 8 also has a double-leaf panelled door and two small original piended dormers with original six-pane glazing. There is a small attic window on the gable facing Petley Street.
