Description
63 High Street in Dingwall is an early 19th century, two-storey, three-bay house that features slightly later ground floor shop fronts, which extend to five bays on Church Street. The High Street facade is rendered with contrasting painted margins and includes a central corniced and pilastered doorpiece with a double leaf panelled door. On either side of the door are three-bay shop fronts, each with a central door and flanking shop windows that have panelled aprons (the left side only, No. 65). The Church Street side is constructed of rubble and also has painted margins, with a doorway located in the fourth bay at the north end of the frontage, one window to the left and three to the right, and five symmetrical windows on the first floor. The windows feature two-pane glazing, and the building has end and ridge stacks, a ridge finial, and a piended slate roof. Inside, one upstairs room boasts a deep painted frieze with a coved ceiling in High Renaissance style.
