174, 176, and 178 Byres Road in Glasgow is a classical tenement building dating from around 1862. It features three stories and a curving corner design, with modern shops located on the ground floor along Byres Road and an attic that includes dormers at the rear. The facade consists of 17 unequal bays, with the eastern bay on Ashton Road being canted. The seventh bay is tripartite and is positioned above the entrance to No. 1 Ashton Road. The building is constructed of polished ashlar and has sash and case windows set within architraves. The windows along Byres Road are six-pane, while the curved section and those on Ashton Road have three panes with horizontal glazing bars. There are arched entrances at Nos. 1 and 3 Ashton Road, which feature cornices and guttae consoled details. The ground floor has a cornice, and the first-floor windows are also corniced, with a tripartite window above the entry at No. 1 Ashton Road. The building is topped with a plain eaves entablature and has corniced axial stacks.
