7-11 King Street, Glasgow

77 Trongate in Glasgow is a building designed by A B MacDonald in 1895 for the City Improvement Trust. It features a terrace of richly detailed Flemish/Baronial tenements with modern shopfronts at ground level.

The building has asymmetrical decorative facades, including an angled bay at the corner and a six-bay gabled elevation facing Trongate, while the longer elevation on King Street is plainer. It stands four storeys high with attics, constructed from polished cream ashlar. The windows include single light, bi-partite, and tripartite designs, with some canted oriels extending from the first to the third floor. Most windows are corniced or adorned with strapwork pediments, showcasing a variety of window head details. The attic storey features decorative Baronial dormer heads or crow-stepped gables.

The windows are sash and case style, fitted with plate glass and two-pane glazing. There are string courses between the floors, and at the eaves, a corbelled cornice is topped with balustrading over the canted windows. The roof is slate, with tall corniced axial stacks.
