Hall, St Enoch Hogganfield Church, 860 Cumbernauld Road, Glasgow

St Enoch Hogganfield Church, built between 1927 and 1930 by John Keppie & Henderson, is a simple Gothic church with Art Nouveau influences, featuring an integral hall on a corner site. The church has a part-aisled nave with a chancel and a south transept. It is primarily constructed of squared and snecked bull-faced red sandstone with ashlar margins, and it features predominantly pointed arch openings, including a bellcote.

The west elevation serves as the entrance and is gabled, featuring a central paired entrance with timber two-leaf round-arched doors. Above this, there is a large pointed arch opening with paired tall pointed windows that have simple tracery, all set in a recess. This façade is flanked by stepped recessed buttresses.

On the south elevation, there is a near-central advanced gable of the south transept, which has a pair of tall pointed windows with simple tracery. To the left, there are four windows of a similar style, and to the far left, there is a small low tripartite window with stone mullions. To the right, the church hall features a near-central entrance and predominantly bipartite mullioned and transomed windows.

The north elevation is dominated by the north aisle, which includes a bellcote topped with a stone Celtic cross on the right side. The church features predominantly small leaded pane glazing and is roofed with grey slates. Plain railings are set on a masonry base along the north, west, and south sides.

Inside, the church has a four-bay nave with a pointed arch arcade to the north, supported by ashlar columns. The interior is rendered and whitewashed, featuring an open timber hammerbeam ceiling with stone corbels. The pointed arch chancel includes dado height oak panelling, an organ, and a simple Gothic oak screen. There is an en suite oak pulpit, communion table, and lectern. A memorial stone dated 1780 from the previous Saltmarket St Enoch is inset within the chancel. The church also contains three modern stained glass panels, a gallery to the west, and plain timber pews.
