86, 88 Hyndland Road, Glasgow

90 and 92 Hyndland Road in Glasgow are large, four-storey tenement buildings designed by John Short (of Adam and Short) in 1898. They occupy half a city block and feature monumental architecture with four, five, and six apartment houses. The buildings showcase Thomsonesque detailing, including pseudo-isodomic (banded) masonry and pilaster-mullioned windows, all constructed from grey sandstone with polished ashlar finishes.

The ground floor has a cornice, while there is a continuous cill band on the first, second, and third floors. The design includes boldly projecting, massive, full-height circular and square window bays. The first and second floors have pilaster-mullioned windows in the bays, and pilastraded windows on the main wall. The original sash and case windows remain in some areas. There are also some wallhead and axial stacks, though many have been reduced in height or altered.
