(Former Mavor & Coulson Stores Building), Rogart Street Campus, Glasgow Metropolitan College, 4 Rogart Street

The former Mavor & Coulson Stores Building, located at Rogart Street Campus of Glasgow Metropolitan College, was designed by architect John B Wingate and constructed by Considere Constructions Ltd between 1957 and 1960. This four-storey industrial building has a rectangular plan and features a ten-bay concrete frame. The principal elevation is clad in red facing brick and blue-black engineering brick, while the end elevations are finished with common brick. It has a flat concrete roof, which includes a brick-faced housing for lift machinery on the southwest side. The façade is characterized by large linear metal framed multipane glazing, separated by narrow pilasters and framed with concrete margins. There are also metal shutter doors and a loading bay with a metal door on the first floor.

Inside, the building primarily has an open plan layout, with some areas divided by brick and plaster partitions, as well as plasterboard and glazed partitions on the upper floors. The floors are made of concrete slabs with a Granolithic finish, and there are concrete stairs with metal balustrades and rails. The main walls are painted brick, and there are internal timber doors dating from the 1970s and 1980s. Additionally, the building includes a heavy goods lift with metal shutters.
