Description
John Burnet Snr, architect, 1876. 1 of pair of symmetrical terminal, pavilions to 2-15 Cleveden Crescent other at 61 Cleveden Drive (separate items) all similarly detailed.
2 storeys, attic and basement; 7 bays with 2 advanced square bay windows with bipartite sashes rising to large segmentally pedimented pilastered attic. Bay windows with clasping pilasters at 1st floor angles, corniced over ground and 1st floors. Otherwise all windows single sashes with plate glass glazing; 4-pane glazing at basement. Continuous strings at 1st floor cills and over lintels, plain main cornice; die and balustrade parapet. Tunnel dormers, tall corniced axial stacks, slate roofs.
3-bay flank to E. Steep flights of steps to porch supported on rusticated pillars; tripartite doorpieces with glazed sidelights. Porch with balustraded parapet with pedestals supporting urns. Otherwise, single-light windows detailed as above. At wallhead, tall corniced stacks, flank pedimented bipartite attic.
Coursed ashlar boundary and retaining walls to gardens with polished coping. Pairs of gatepiers, rusticated at base, polished to top section. Gatepiers also to Cleveden Crescent Lane.
