Description
Pollokshields Congregational Church and Hall, built between 1902 and 1903 by Andrew Balfour of Steele and Balfour, is a Gothic-style church located on a corner site at 63 Fotheringay Road in Glasgow. The church and hall each feature a main entrance in a gabled front facing Fotheringay Road, with an additional door in a narrow linking bay. The exterior is constructed of stugged and snecked red ashlar with polished dressings, and includes some figurative leaded panels and slate roofs. The church is characterized by buttresses, traceried windows, a large window in the main gable, and transepts with plain plate tracery. The hall shares similar architectural details, and the rear ranges include some crow-stepped gables.
