Description
The Valve House on Millbrae Street in Glasgow dates from around 1900 and features baronial detailing with an asymmetrical design. It serves as a valve house for sewerage pumping and is constructed of red brick with yellow sandstone dressings. The building has an L-shaped plan with a circular, castellated tower located in the re-entrant angle. The north-south block is taller than the east-west block, and both sections have crow-stepped gables and a roof made of Westmoreland slate. The Valve House is situated on the embankment next to the Glasgow-Dumbarton railway line.
