Park's Motor Works, 40-44 Kilbirnie Street, Glasgow

Park's Motor Works, located at 40-44 Kilbirnie Street in Glasgow, was designed by R Henderson in 1913. This three-storey building features a six-by-nine bay layout constructed of reinforced concrete. The façade includes a segmental arched door adorned with a keystone, corbels, and a cornice. Large multi-paned steel-framed windows are arranged between tall pilasters, and the building has raised corner parapets. The rear is a plain blank brick panel, and the roof is flat. A central lift tower houses the original lift by R Waywood from London, which was used to transfer car bodies from the ground floor smithy to the first-floor joinery and second-floor painting and varnishing shops. The structure is also designed with piercings to accommodate line shafting.
