27 Carnarvon Street in Glasgow is a building dating from around 1865. It is a truncated terrace of tenements featuring a 9-bay return elevation to Baliol Street. The structure stands three storeys above a basement and has a total of 15 bays, with shallow advanced 5-bay pavilions. The exterior is finished in polished ashlar stone, which has been cleaned.

There are steps leading up to architraved and corniced doorways that include fanlights. All the windows are architraved, with apron detailing at the ground level and cornicing on the first floor. The windows are sash style, mostly with multipane glazing. A continuous string course runs along the cills of the first and second floors. The building features an eaves course, a cornice, and a deep plain parapet. It has axial stacks and slate roofs.

The basement and steps are enclosed with cast-iron railings, although many of these are damaged. The flank of the building facing 27 and 29 Baliol Street has a 3-bay design, detailed as pavilions, and includes paired doorways.
