8 Broomhill Gardens, Broomhill, Glasgow

8 Broomhill Gardens is a terrace of five houses built around 1888-1891. These two-storey, two-bay houses are arranged in a curving line and are set on a slope. The front is made of polished ashlar, with some areas painted, and the plinth is rock-faced, while the rear elevation features snecked rubble.

The entrances are located on the left side and are tripartite, flanked by narrow sidelights and topped with elaborate coupled consoles. Above the entrance, there is a tripartite window. The ground floor includes a full-height, five-light canted bay with simple arched tympana. On the first floor, there is a boldly projecting corbelled cill band and deep corbelled eaves, along with finials and skews that feature corniced axial stacks breaking through.

The return elevation is made of snecked rusticated rubble with random fenestration. There is a bay window in the northern bay that rises from the basement to the ground floor.
