Description

Circa 1880. Astylar terrace of 7, 2-bay houses; steps removed and doorpieces altered to tripartite windows at all but nos 1 and 7. Polished ashlar; 3 storeys, attics and basement.

Nos 1 and 7; steps oversailing basement to architraved tripartite consoled corniced doorpiece with double-leaf panelled storm doors and glazed sidelights. All windows in architraves, pedimented at 1st floor. Nos 2 and 6 have tripartite windows to ground 1st and 2nd floors. Full-height canted bay windows to left, corniced over each floor. Sash windows, plate glass glazing. Continuous cornice over ground; string course at 2nd floor cills. Plain eaves cornice, blocking course. Axial corniced stacks, slate roofs.

Flank to NE: stepped 3-bay elevation with separate mansard roofs; 3 storeys, similarly detailed. Rear elevation coursed stugged ashlar; modern roof lights.

At No 3 projecting square bay at 1st floor supported on ashlar piers rising from basement; platt at ground gives access to door. 1st floor window, round-arched tripartite.

Elegant cast-iron railings to steps and basement, some modern.
