Description

The Main Lodge to the former Tollcross House, located at 591 Tollcross Road in Glasgow, was designed by David Bryce of Edinburgh in 1858. This single-storey building features a crow-stepped design with a plain gable facing the road and two gables along the driveway. The smaller gable serves as the porch, which includes a bolection-moulded doorway and a canted ground floor window. The lodge is constructed of snecked rubble with ashlar dressings, and it has a slate roof and sash windows. The boundary wall curves inward at the driveway and is complemented by modern iron railings, along with corniced square gatepiers topped with acorn finials.
