Description

The Steps at Park Gardens in Glasgow, designed by architect Charles Wilson between 1853 and 1854, is a monumental stairway made of grey granite. The stairway consists of three stages that connect Woodlands Terrace and Park Gardens. It features massive square piers at each stage, with the lower part being bull-faced and a polished granite plinth above. The stairway is capped with square coping stones. Additionally, there is a bull-faced retaining wall that supports a balustrade, which includes smaller intermediate die-pedestals equipped with cast-iron lamp brackets.
