Description

Hope Cottage is an early 19th century two-window and one-door cottage built of whin rubble, now harled, with droved sandstone dressings. The roof is pantiled, with a piended dormer window covered in slate. Part of the cottage was reconstructed in a traditional manner between 1970 and 1971 using harled rubble and pantiles. There are also traditional rubble and pantile outbuildings. The building's listing reflects its group interest, recognising its contribution to the surrounding area and applying to both the interior and exterior. The statutory address is House (Miss Smith) and Outbuildings, Barnyards.
