Description

David Bryce, 1869. Scots baronial, with crow-stepped gables,

corbelling, coped stacks, steep-pedimented dormer heads

breaking through eaves. 2-storey house with raised basement;

west elevation has 2 bays with canted windows at ground, that

nearest north corbelled to square above, and crow-stepped; 3

1st floor windows break through eaves and have pedimented

dormer heads; circular turret corbelled in 2 stages above

south west angle at basement level; projecting square ground

floor bay on south flank not original. Snecked bull-faced

ashlar with polished dressings; sash windows, some with small

paned glazing. Slate roofs. Main door and low ranges

including conservatory to west. Enclosed by high garden wall

with gatepiers.
