Description
Newton is a building from the mid 19th century, possibly incorporating older elements. It is a traditional two-storey structure made of whin rubble with sandstone dressings and features pantiled roofs, with some gables designed in a crowstepped style. Part of the building has been re-roofed with asbestos. Notable architectural features include a good range of segmental arches and a flyover arch leading to the threshing loft. A fine armorial panel from the 17th century, displaying the Leslie and Dury shields, is built into the west wall.
