24-28 Canmore Street, Dunfermline

32 Canmore Street in Dunfermline is an earlier to mid-19th century building that consists of two stories and an attic. It is part of a terrace that includes two houses and two shops with a flat above. Originally, it featured two three-bay houses and one four-bay house, with No. 32 possibly having a ground floor shop or office. The building was constructed in two separate stages, with Nos 30 and 32 being slightly earlier.

The principal (south) elevation is made of coursed dressed sandstone with ashlar dressings, while the other elevations are constructed from coursed rubble. The principal elevation of Nos 30 and 32 has a base course and a continuous eaves course, with coped gables.

The south elevation has ten bays and is regularly fenestrated on the first floor. Nos 26 and 28 have glazed shopfronts from the 20th century, each with recessed glazed timber doors and rectangular fanlights. No. 30 features a central entrance with flanking pilasters that support a simple entablature, leading to a panelled timber door with a rectangular fanlight and flanking windows. No. 32 has an identical entrance with a similar earlier timber door, flanked by windows, including one on the outer right. There are polygonal piended dormer windows in the flanking outer bays of No. 32 and one to the right of No. 30, along with boxed dormers over the shopfronts to No. 26.

The north elevation features catslide dormer stair windows at the center of Nos 30 and 32, with the latter being rendered over. The fenestration is irregular, except for No. 30. There is a small rendered extension at the rear of Nos 24-28.

The west elevation has a window to the right on the first floor. The building mainly has four and twelve-pane timber sash and case windows, and the roof is covered with grey slate. There are four droved sandstone stacks, including gableheads at either end of the terrace, each with a band course, except for the one on the west which has moulded coping, and they feature round and octagonal cans.

The interiors were not inspected in 1998.
