Description
Pittillock House is a building of group value, dating from the 16th and 17th centuries. Originally a L-plan tower house, it was substantially reconstructed in the mid-18th century. The east front now presents as a three-storey, five-window facade, featuring an arched doorpiece with a keyblock, margins to the windows, prominent quoins, and a piended roof treatment. A later two-storey addition extends to the rear, although it has been significantly altered in 1969. The walls are harled with margins, and covered with slate. Remnants of older openings, with stop-chamfered spine beams with run-out stops, are visible on the north and west fronts.
