Description
The Garpit Corn Mill, located at Garpit Cornmill, Tayport, dates to 1817, as indicated by a skew end inscription. It is a low, two-storey building constructed of sandstone rubble with ashlar dressings and a pantiled roof. A raised kiln features a pyramid roof. The mill originally incorporated an internal water wheel with a tailrace arch, and a lower wing flanks the tailrace at a right angle. The mill is now ruinous, with all internal workings and the kiln being gutted.
