Description

Late 18th century with later alterations. Row of 2-storey flatted traditional dwellings,

3 with chimney-headed gables and segmental-arched pends between 6/7 and 10/11. Blocked and coursed whinstone, ashlar margins some droved, eaves course from 1 to 11; pebble-dash to rear.

EAST (PRINCIPAL) ELEVATION: Nos 1 to 4 symmetrical, 5-bay; door with plate glass fanlight at centre with windows in flanking bays, regular windows at 1st floor, central gable with window. Nos 5 and 6, 4-bay; door to left of centre, windows in flanking bays, pend to outer right; regular windows at 1st floor with window in gable over door. Nos 7 to 10, 5-bay; panelled door at centre with windows in flanking bays, regular windows at 1st floor, both inner windows blinded, centre gable with window. Nos 11 and 12 irregular 4-bay; door to right of centre with window adjacent, further window to right, bipartite stone-mullioned window to left, enlarged pend to left outer bay. Bipartite stone-mullioned windows to 1st floor inner bays, window to outer right, small bathroom window and further window over pend.

12-pane glazing pattern in sash and case windows in Nos 1 to 10; 6-pane upper, 2-pane lower glazing pattern in Nos 11 and 12. Grey slates, ashlar coped skews and cavetto coped stacks with ropework detailed scrolled skewputts at eaves, plain scrolled skewputts to gables, skewputts at No 2 dated 1793.
