Description

The Town Hall in Falkland, designed by Thomas Barclay between 1800 and 1801, is a classical two-storey building. It features arched openings on the ground floor and has a three-window front on both the north and east sides. The structure includes a clock tower topped with an octagonal belfry drum and a spire. The building is constructed of ashlar stone with raised quoins, while the ground floor is painted and the roof is slated. Inside, the first-floor room boasts a fine contemporary ceiling, and it incorporates coats of arms from a previous building, dated 1618 and 1715.
