Description
This is a rectangular, three-bay former church built in 1826. A vestry was added to the north side in 1902-3, designed by H Bruce. The building is now used as a hall and is no longer in ecclesiastical use. The church is constructed of rubble, with the south elevation featuring droved and squared stone and the east gable and vestry being harled. Ashlar dressings are present throughout. The west gable has a central, panelled door with chamfered margins and a rectangular fanlight set beneath a relieving arch. All original windows have pointed heads, with three windows featuring simple Y-tracery along the south wall and two windows on the east gable. A boiler house and the vestry project from the north wall. The roof is slate-covered, and the building features straight skews. Above the west gable is a corbelled, square bellcote with a bellcast roof and a weathervane. A shaped finial, possibly reused from an earlier building, sits atop the east gable. The interior fittings have been removed. The adjacent cemetery contains 18th and 19th century monuments and is enclosed by rubble-built walls, with octagonal ashlar gatepiers topped with corniced caps, decorative cast-iron gates, and a wrought-iron overthrow arch.
