Description

49 South Street in St Andrews is a 16th-century building that was rebuilt in the early 19th century. It is three storeys high and features three windows, constructed from ashlar stone and slate, with a vaulted wing at the back. The front has a semi-elliptical doorpiece and raised quoins. In 1932, the building was restored, during which two late 16th-century painted ceilings were discovered.
