18 And 20 Main Street, West Wemyss

2 and 4 Main Street in West Wemyss are early 19th-century terraced houses that have undergone later alterations. This row consists of five plain, two-storey, three-bay houses designed uniformly. The exterior features roughly coursed rubble, which was previously harled, with painted stone margins.

On the northwest elevation facing Main Street, numbers 2 and 4 have a central bay that originally contained a door but now has a window. To the right is a window, and to the left is a later bipartite window. The first floor has regular fenestration, with the central bay breaking the eaves into a steeply pedimented dormer head, while the left bay has a low eyelid dormer head.

For numbers 6 to 20, the central bay features a panelled timber door with a small window adjacent to the right, a window in the bay to the right, and a later bipartite window to the left. The first floor maintains regular fenestration as well.

All windows are currently blinded for protection. The roofs are covered with pantiles, and there are coped harled stacks with cans, along with ashlar-coped skews.
