Description

The Lime Kiln at Harelaw is a mid-19th century structure that features a surviving tunnel from a complex lime kiln built into the hillside. It is currently used as a store and workshop. The kiln is classified as Skinner - Type U1 and has an arched tunnel made of coursed sandstone. The tunnel measures 12 feet high, 13 feet wide, and 42 feet long, and includes three draw vents. Above the tunnel, there is a loading ramp, and modern doors have been added to the entrance of the tunnel.
