Description

12 Kitchener Crescent in Longniddry is a building designed by Henry and MacLennan in 1916. It consists of single-storey and attic, semi-detached houses featuring symmetrical two-bay frontages. Each pair has a central gable that breaks the eaves. The houses have bipartite windows and small windows at the ground level, with two single windows located in the gablehead at the center. There are porches recessed to each side, which are sheltered by sweeping eaves, and the doors have small-pane upper panels. Additionally, there is a window by the re-entrant angle. A single-storey newsagent's shop connects Nos 16 and 17 around the corner to the main road. The former gabled garage adjoining No 18 has been converted into a fruit shop and bakery. The glazing matches that of the houses, and the roofs are covered with Scottish slates.
