14 Rhodes Cottages, North Berwick

10 Rhodes Cottages is a range of late 18th century single storey farm cottages that were transformed into a symmetrical U-plan by the addition of wings in the later 19th century. The cottages are constructed from squared and snecked rubble, featuring contrasting stugged ashlar dressings.

On the south elevation, there is an advanced gabled pend entrance at the center with a basket arched lintel. This entrance is flanked by two 3-bay cottages on each side, each with a central door and flanking windows. The wings contain two cottages, with one set into the angle.

The north (rear) elevation has a modern extension to the left. The slightly advanced wing gables feature a single light and outer bipartite windows.

The side elevations are 5-bay, with a central window and outer windows that are more closely spaced. The cottages have plate glass sash windows and modern doors with upper glazed lights. The roofs are finished with plain skews and gable head stacks, covered in pantiles.

There is a rubble boundary wall and a low parapet at the opening of the forecourt.
