Description

The Old Bank at 43 Hardgate in Haddington is a classical house built in the late 18th century. It features a two-storey facade with seven windows, where the central and end bays are slightly advanced. The central bay has a pediment and a doorpiece with a fanlight supported by Doric columns. The first floor includes a tripartite window design, and there is a cornice and blocking course above. The roof is hipped and slated, with chimneys arranged symmetrically. The property is complemented by rubble garden walls and gatepiers that include a wrought iron overthrow lampholder.
