Description
1 Lauder Place in East Linton is an early 19th century house that was later raised to two storeys and features three bays. It is part of a terrace on the right. The building is constructed of squared and snecked whinstone, with stugged ashlar dressings that are raised and margined at the first floor. The sides and rear are made of rubble.
The east elevation faces Lauder Place and has a central door with a corniced doorpiece and a carved lion above it, along with a strip fanlight. There are windows on either side of the door, and three additional windows at the first floor. At the rear, there is a two-storey extension with a piend roof, made of rendered brick, which features brackets at the roof ridge.
The house has sash and case windows with a 12-pane glazing pattern. The roof is covered with grey slates, has straight skews, and is topped with ashlar coped stacks.
