Description
The gate lodge at Redcoll, possibly designed by James Burn around 1824, is a single-storey, three-bay classical structure built from stugged ashlar.
The southeast and southwest elevations feature an arcade with a base course, impost course, eaves course, and blocking course. The southeast side has a door with a strip fanlight, flanked by windows. There is a rendered and lined extension to the northwest that includes an additional arch and window. The southwest elevation has two blind windows, while the rear has two more windows. The lodge is fitted with sash and case windows that have a lying-pane glazing pattern. It has a pyramidal roof covered with grey slates and red ridge tiles, along with a squat rendered central stack. The entrance is marked by four square paired gatepiers made of ashlar, which are corniced and have chamfered angles.
