Description
Longniddry Farm is a farmhouse built around 1790, with later additions and alterations. It is a 2-storey, 3-bay L-plan structure constructed of rubble with stugged ashlar dressings and raised margins. The central entrance features a mid-19th century corniced doorpiece with a bracketed pediment above a panelled door, accompanied by a decorative fanlight. The tripartite door has a depressed-arch fanlight and 4-pane sidelights. On the ground floor, there are contemporary canted bays with ashlar piend roofs flanking the entrance. The first floor has three windows grouped closely under the eaves, while a round-arched window is located on the ground floor at the rear. There are single-storey additions and lean-to pig-sties attached to the farmhouse, as well as a modern lean-to conservatory added to the south gable. The windows are sash and case, featuring a 2-pane glazing pattern on the ground floor and 12-pane windows on the first floor. The farmhouse was likely re-roofed in the mid-19th century, now covered with purple slates on the piended and platform roofs, which include a small polygonal skylight at the rear. Corniced wallhead stacks complete the structure.
