Description

6-8 Polwarth Street in Galston is a typical vernacular range of old properties that line the west side of the street. The building at No. 20-22 is dated 1803 and features a raised central chimney. It is constructed of ashlar, stucco, and painted stonework. This property is one of the few remaining continuous groups of houses in the center of the burgh that date from the late 18th to early 19th centuries. In contrast, the opposite side of the street has been partly rebuilt during the Victorian era.
