Description

A picturesque example of a 17th century Socttish country

house. Originally L shape, with a round tower at the north

west angle and a square tower at the diagonally opposite

angle; main body had the usual vaulted ground floor, with

hall and other rooms on the first and second floors; to this

central block, various additions have been made at different

times; one of these extends towards the east and has a round

tower attached at the north-east angle; another is added

towards the south and has a lower but very picturesque round

tower at the south west angle - The whole of these erections

combine to form a very pleasing composition.
