Description
The Royal Bank of Scotland, located at 50-52 High Street in Annan, was likely designed by the architectural firm Peddie and Kinnear around 1887, although it underwent alterations around 1930 and has been re-glazed. This two-storey bank features closely spaced openings and may have originally included a pair of recessed low wings, with the left wing still standing at two storeys (the modern shop on the right is not included in the listing). The building is constructed of red ashlar stone, with a channelled ground level and arcaded lights on the first floor, along with a decorative cornice. A blocking course from the 1930s conceals the slate roof, and there are end stacks present.
