Description
Smithy Cottage, probably dating from circa 1790, is a single-story building. The side elevation, facing the main road, has two bays, while the south elevation has six bays and an off-centre gabled porch. The exterior is constructed of painted rubble with margins, featuring sash windows with mostly plate glass. Two symmetrically placed apex chimneys are present. The roof is slate, with a piended shape on the main road elevation and a gabled shape to the west. It is likely that the cottage was part of the original village built by Patrick Miller of Dalswinton. The statutory address is Dalswinton Village Former Smithy.
