Description
The garden walls at Rammerscales House date from the late 18th century and are located at the northern end of the enclosure. The walls are constructed of red sandstone, with a rubble outer face and ashlar lining on the garden side, topped with modern concrete coping. The walls extend south from each end and feature a gateway, with a third gate centrally positioned on the north wall. The gateways have lintels leading into the garden and arched outer faces. There are a series of rectangular recesses flanking the north gate, one of which reuses a stop-chamfered lintel, likely serving as bee-boles. The walls also incorporate a garden seat, steps, pineapple urns, and a sundial, and they step down a steep slope.
