Description
7 High Street in Kirkcudbright is a pair of terraced houses dating from the late 18th century. The buildings are two stories high and have three bays, with an earlier rear wing now designated as No. 7, which is positioned at right angles and features two stories and five asymmetrical bays. No. 9 is constructed of painted pinned rubble with rusticated quoins. There is a pend on the left side, with a door and two windows to the right, and a central window that was originally a door. Both houses have 12-pane sash windows throughout, an eaves cornice, straight skews with moulded skewputts, and slate roofs with chimney stacks.
The rear range includes a door with a fanlight and a window that projects above it, along with one window to the left on the west side. The three eastern bays of the rear range date from the earlier to mid-18th century and feature a recessed central door. This section is also built of rubble and has a slate roof.
