Description

Probably Robert Burn of Edinburgh. Street lay-out by Burn

1806, terrace of 7 houses mostly built 1820-30 (nos 25,

27 built by 1819). 2 storeys with attics and

cast-iron-railed basements. All droved ashlar, painted

(except no 37), with pilastered doorpieces, round-arched

doorways, panelled doors with fanlights; sash windows,

some with 12-pane glazing pattern. Band courses between

floors; string at ground floor cill level; cornice;

blocking course; each house has single dormer (these

mostly canted); straight skews; end stacks; slate roof.

Some good interior work survives.
