Description
57-59 Castle Street is a terraced corner house dating from the late 18th to early 19th century, which includes a later shop. The building is two storeys high with a basement, featuring three bays facing Castle Street and one bay on High Street. It is constructed of rubble with painted margins and rusticated quoins at the angle. The shop front is located to the right, with a central door and one window to the left. There are three windows on the first floor and one window on each floor facing High Street, although some of the glazing is modern. The roof is slate. A revision in 1991 noted that the masonry is no longer painted, with only the margins remaining painted, and the door has been replaced with a modern version.
