Description
Drannandow Farmhouse is an asymmetrical gabled farmhouse built between the early and mid-19th century. It is a single-storey structure with an attic, constructed from squared and snecked whin stone, featuring bull-faced granite margins and long and short quoins, along with overhanging eaves.
On the east elevation, the left gable is lower, with a replacement panelled door positioned centrally between the gables. There is a 2-light window with a later concrete mullion at ground level, and a small window in the gablehead of the left gable. The right gable also has a 2-light window at ground level and a small window in its gablehead.
The south elevation features a 2-light window on both the left and right sides, with a modern glasshouse situated in the center.
On the north elevation, there is a window on the left side, with the jamb of an adjoining outbuilding to the right, creating an L-plan. A stone forestair leads to a door in the north gable, with another door to the right and a window to the left, along with a modern flat-roofed addition at the eastern return.
The west elevation includes a 2-light window at ground level and a window on the first floor of the advanced right gable, with three additional windows to the left. The windows feature diamond-pane glazing in sash and case, as well as casement styles, with some having 4-pane glazing. The roof is covered with graded grey slates and has granite ridge diamond stacks, located centrally on the south roof and on each roof of the L-plan. There are dormer windows on the east and west pitches of the jamb.
