Description

91 High Street in Dalbeattie is a mid-19th century terrace of two-storey cottages. The building at No 83 features a corner elevation with Southwick Road and includes a shop at ground level with an entrance across the angle.

No 83 has a four-bay design with a cart arch (pend) to the right, while the other elevations are three-bay. The walling is made of bull-faced granite on Southwick Road, while the High Street elevations are rendered with raised margins. All windows are single light sashes, except for one bipartite window at No 91, featuring plate glass with either four or twelve-pane glazing. There are depressed-arch cart entrances on both Southwick Road and at No 83 on High Street. The building has bracketed eaves, slate roofs, and corniced axial stacks at the party walls. The flank facing Southwick Road has a four-bay layout with a cart entrance flanked by single light windows.
