9 Greenhill Park, Edinburgh

9 Greenhill Park is a two-storey double villa built in 1853 by John Henderson. Each half of the villa has four bays and features recessed side wings, showcasing classical details along with some later additions. The exterior is made of cream sandstone with squared and snecked stugged rubble, and polished ashlar dressings at the front. The windows are architraved with bracketed cills, and there is a cill band course at the first floor along with overhanging eaves.

The front elevation is symmetrical, with gabled bays that are slightly advanced at the center. Each of these center bays has a single round-arched window at the ground floor within an architraved panel, and a corniced window above at the first floor. The outer bays on either side also have single windows at both the ground and first floors. There is a recessed entrance porch at the outer bays, which has been heightened later. This porch features a round-arched doorway with a panelled door and a semi-circular fanlight, along with a single window above at the first floor. The side wings, originally single storey, include a tripartite timber oriel with carved timber brackets and a gable on the south side, as well as an oriel and lean-to conservatory on the east side. The left side has a modern rubble-built forestair leading to a secondary door on the return of the porch, and a tripartite timber oriel on the side wing.

The rear elevation has gabled bays on the left and right of the center, each with single windows. The villa features 12-pane timber sash and case windows, a slate piend and platform roof with metal flashings, and wallhead stacks to the west and northwest, along with a central transverse stack and corniced square cans. The eaves gutters and gutterheads are moulded.

The interior was not seen in 1992. The boundary wall surrounding the property is a tall rubble wall with semi-circular coping at the front, rear, and sides, and includes two pedestrian gateways topped with semi-circular pediments.
