Description
5 and 7 Inverleith Place in Edinburgh is a building designed by Wardrop and Anderson, likely H M Wardrop, in 1887. This free Jacobean style structure is a balanced but asymmetrical terrace block that features two storeys, a basement, and an attic, accommodating ground floor and basement/first floor flats as well as attic flats.
The building includes three canted bays that are two storeys high and have basements, each topped with balustraded parapets. The two end bays feature gablets above them. There are four two-light dormers positioned between the bays, each adorned with broken and scrolled pediments. The paired doorpieces are complemented by rectangular fanlights, and there are paired windows on the first floor above. The exterior is constructed from ashlar stone with moulded arrises, and the roof is slated.
